Getting started
What file types does NVlab Translation support?+
We currently support Google Slides, Google Docs, and Google Sheets. The file must already be in your Google Drive — we access it directly via the Google Slides/Docs/Sheets API, so plain Office files (.pptx, .docx, .xlsx) need to be converted to Google format first.
Do I need to upload my file anywhere?+
No. You paste the link to your Google file and we access it directly inside Google's infrastructure. Your document never touches our servers. The translated copy is written back to a new file in your Google Drive.
How long does a translation take?+
A 40-slide presentation typically finishes in under 2 minutes. Shorter documents (under 10 pages) usually complete in 20–40 seconds. Very large documents (100+ pages) may take 5–7 minutes.
Where does the translated file end up?+
A new copy of your file — with "(Translated)" added to the name — is created in the same Google Drive folder as the original. We never modify your original file.
What languages can I translate between?+
We support over 50 languages, including all major European languages, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, and Bahasa Indonesia. A 20% surcharge applies for Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, and Hindi due to higher AI processing costs. See our pricing page for details.
Translation quality
How accurate is the translation?+
We use Claude (Anthropic's latest AI model), which produces near-professional quality for most language pairs and document types. For business documents in major language pairs (e.g. English ↔ Indonesian, English ↔ Japanese), accuracy is typically comparable to a professional translator for straightforward content. Highly technical, legal, or creative content may still benefit from human review.
Will the formatting be preserved?+
Yes. Fonts, font sizes, colors, text alignment, images, tables, charts, and slide layouts are all preserved exactly as they were. Only the text content changes. This is one of our core differentiators — many translation tools break formatting, but we write directly to the Google file format.
Can I give it context about my industry or brand?+
Not yet — this is on our roadmap. In a future version you will be able to supply a glossary or style guide that the AI will follow. For now, the AI uses the document itself as context, which is usually sufficient for consistent terminology within a single document.
What if the translation has errors?+
The translated file is fully editable in Google Slides / Docs / Sheets, so you can correct any errors directly. If there is a systematic issue (e.g. a specific technical term was mistranslated throughout), email us at hello@nvlab.id. We review quality feedback to improve the service.
Can it translate charts, image text, or alt-text?+
Text inside editable text boxes and tables is translated. Embedded images (raster graphics) and text baked into chart labels that are not separately editable are not translated — these would require image OCR, which we don't currently support. Chart titles, axis labels, and data labels that exist as separate text elements are translated.
Data & privacy
Does NVlab store my document content?+
No. We access your document content in real time to perform the translation and then discard it. No copy of your document text (original or translated) is ever written to our database. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What Google permissions do you request?+
We request access only to the specific file you submit — not your entire Drive. We use the narrowest OAuth scope available: access to files created by NVlab, plus the ability to read the file you explicitly share with us. We do not request access to email, contacts, calendar, or any other Google service.
Can I revoke NVlab's access to my Google account?+
Yes, at any time. Go to myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party apps with account access and remove NVlab. This will prevent future translations until you re-authorize, but it will not affect any already-translated files in your Drive.
Does Anthropic (Claude) keep my data?+
Anthropic processes the text via their API and does not retain it for model training under their standard API terms. Please refer to Anthropic's API Privacy Policy for the definitive statement. We have not opted into any data-sharing program with Anthropic.

Is there a subscription?+
No. NVlab is strictly pay-per-use. You pay once for each document you translate. There is no monthly fee, no minimum commitment, and no auto-renewal.
What payment methods do you accept?+
Indonesian users can pay via Midtrans, which supports bank transfer (Virtual Account), GoPay, OVO, ShopeePay, QRIS, and major credit cards in IDR. International users pay via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) in USD.
What happens if my translation fails?+
If a job fails due to a technical error on our side, you will not be charged. If you were charged and the job did not complete successfully, contact us at hello@nvlab.id and we will issue a full refund within 2 business days.
Do you offer refunds?+
Yes, within 24 hours of payment if the translated output is clearly unusable (e.g. wrong language, severe formatting corruption). We do not offer refunds for stylistic dissatisfaction with the AI translation, but you are always welcome to report quality issues so we can improve.
Can I get an invoice?+
Yes. A receipt is automatically emailed to you after each successful payment. For formal invoices with company details (for expense reimbursement), email hello@nvlab.id with your transaction ID and company information.
